Tips for Beginners
Short rules. Each one is a click, not a lecture.
1. Spend actions; do not hoard them#
Dashboard shows actions. They roll to 200, but above 100 you pay -4/turn. Click Campaign, donor, poll, or ads every session.
2. Join a party before you declare#
Parties → join. Independents eat a primary and general penalty. Match your sliders to the platform.
3. Poll, then declare#
Race page → Quick Poll (2 AP, ₳25k). If the primary math looks hopeless, pick another seat. Elections is where you look.

4. Canvass where you are#
Canvass is home-state (or the state a presidential candidate has traveled to). A click elsewhere errors and still spends the action.
5. Open demographics once#
On the race or state view, read which groups are large, high-turnout, and close to you. Aim ads and canvassing there.
6. Know the hour#
Turns process on the hour. Ads and canvassing apply when you click; you do not wait for the turn for those. Votes and bills wait for the turn.
7. Save big canvassing for campaign season#
Last 4 turns before the race ends, campaign passives double. That is the window. Watch the timer on the race page.
8. Do not file with PI under 30#
Campaign until PI is 30+. From 0, that is days of clicks, not one session.
9. First office is the lowest one#
State Senate or House (or MP / MdB). Senate and President wait. Office AP bonuses fund the next race.
10. Party org is not optional#
Low home-state party org scales your general votes down. Ask the chair to Build Org. Presidential Campaign Presence is a separate spend on the presidential page.
11. Infamy sticks#
Attack and whip-defy add Infamy. It decays slowly and hurts NPP endorsements. Click Attack only when the damage is worth it.
12. Watch declaration timers#
Elections → race → primary close time. Miss it, wait a full cycle (2 to 6 game years by office).

13. Country is sticky#
Picked at creation. Relocation wipes party, NPI, and national posts. See Relocation.
14. Do not clone existing law#
Before Propose bill, skim active policy on the legislature pages. Duplicate provisions waste the bill slot and AP.

15. Read what the last turn did#
Notifications (and the turn summary) list resolved elections and bills. If a candidacy vanished, look there first.
Your first week#
- Actions spent every session, not stacked past 100.
- Party joined.
- Quick Poll before first declare.
- Lowest office chosen, not Senate.
- PI 30+ before you file.
- Primary timer written down.
